THOUGHTFUL DESIGN ENHANCES THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE
PHASE I COMPLETED
DCC DESIGN TEAM | OCTOBER 2018
Phase I of the 2 West Master Plan Renovation at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset, is complete after XXX months of construction. The renovation of the existing 15,000 sq. ft Cardiac Inpatient Unit is located on the 2nd floor of the West building tower. This required patients to be relocated during construction. The design includes a custom millwork nurse station with additional built-in file storage and glass privacy panels which enhance the organizational capacity and functionality of the space. A wood panel accent ceiling and linear light fixtures make this station a landmark for patients and families as they enter the unit.
DCC was also tasked with upgrading the patient rooms to create a more serene environment to foster healing. Custom artwork installations promote comfort and serenity, and new modular headwalls offer built-in modern amenities for patient convenience.
Our partners on this project include NK Architects, LKU Group (Engineering), OA Peterson Construction and Best Health Planning. Special thanks also go to Madison Art Consulting.
